Retaining Walls: Five Easy Steps to estimating for your yard: Step1- Measure length of wall and convert it to inches. Step 2- Divide total length of wall (inches) by 20. (This gives you the amount of 20" blocks per row required for the total length.) Step 3- Establish wall height
required and divide by 4" to calculate amount of rows to be used. Step 5- To calculate cap stone
requirements, take the length of wall in inches and divide by 26",this
then gives you the total number of 16" & 10" caps required.
(The idea is
to use an equal number of 16" & 10" caps as to give the
appearance of natural rocks.) You
may need to cut or break one, in order
to fit odd lengths.
- A rule of thumb when installing a project with tighter curves, replace 25% of the 20" bricks with 10" bricks. (Remember for every 20" brick you take out you will replace it with 2 10" bricks.) Patio Stones: Note: All of our patio stones are 18" x 18" and 2" thick. 1. Measure the length of the area you wish to cover. 2. Convert that measurement into inches (multiply feet by 12) 3. Take the length in inches and divide it by 18. This will tell you how many of our pavers you will need to go that distance. 4. Measure the width of the area you wish to cover and repeat steps 2 and 3. 5. After you have done these steps you will know how many patio stones you need. 6.
